Oribe Firing Membership Overview
As an Oribe member, you may register for four of the six soda firings we will offer in 2026. While the membership is primarily geared toward soda firing, you are welcome to swap a soda firing for a raku firing upon request. Oribe members will also receive early notifications and pre-enrollment before firing dates are open to the general public.
We ask that folks have soda fired with us AT LEAST 3 times before joining as an Oribe member.

Materials
Slips & Glazes
Your Oribe membership includes access to all of our on-site slips, flashing slips, and glazes. We also encourage members to share and test their own glaze recipes to contribute to our growing community palette in San Gregorio.
Clay
Oribe members will have access to red wadding, as well as a new clay body specially developed for our soda firings.
Test Kiln
We are building a small test kiln that will be available for Oribe members to use for their own testing and firing. Kiln access is included with membership; however, a small propane fee will apply.
Private Firings
After participating in our training program, Oribe members may rent our 24-cubic-foot gas kiln at a discounted rate.
Pottery Sale
In September, we will host a pottery sale in San Gregorio for members to showcase their work, support their practice, and strengthen our Oribe Firing community!
Woodfire
We will be building a train kiln this summer and Oribe members are welcome to help with that build! However the first firing of the wood kiln won’t take place until January 2027. Moving forward, wood firings will only be available for Oribe members, not the general public.
